140 Churches being washed: LWMC to maintain cleanliness of Christian localities on Xmas eve

LAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has announced to keep all Christian localities clean on the eve of Christmas.

As per the LWMC’s plan, all the Christian localities, missionary schools and churches across the city would be cleaned efficiently.

Separate duty roasters of staff and Waste Collection & Transportation Vehicles have been issued to both Turkish companies Albayrak & Ozpak with strict instructions to implement the plan as per need.

Mechanical washing of some 140 major Churches in the city has already begun and washing process will be completed before Christmas day.

Adjacent areas and roads leading to churches will also be both manually and mechanically swept and washed and later on lime will be applied to give pavements a clean look.

Senior managers will lead the managerial side while monitoring team have also been constituted. According to the LWMC spokesperson, all celebrations related to Christmas have been cancelled on the call of Christian community in the light of recent tragic incident at Peshawar.
