He had arrived on a flight from Chisnau via Istanbul.
The contraband cigarettes have a retail value of €9,500 euro, representing a loss to the Exchequer of around €7,000.
A man appeared in court earlier charged in connection with the find.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Tuesday.
