ANKARA: Twenty Turkish customs officials kidnapped in the Kapıköy and Üzümlü gates on the border with Iran in August have been released.
The terror group, which has been waging deadly attacks against the Turkish state since late July, kidnapped 20 customs officials in two separate incidents in August.
On August 10th, ten customs officials were kidnapped by the group at the Üzümlü border gate in Hakkari, eastern Turkey.
On August 21st, 12 people, including 11 customs officials and a driver, were abducted at the Kapıköy Border Gate along the Turkish-Iranian border in Van province. A female customs official and a driver were released.
The kidnapped officials were handed over to NGOs including the Human Rights Association (İHD).
