ISLAMABAD: It has been disclosed that 21 top rank officials of Federal Board of Revenue have dual nationality and mostly belong to Pakistan Customs Service Group. Federal Board of Revenue on the direction of Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan has compiled a report of dual national officers and name has been sent to the Supreme Court.
Sources told Customs Today there are name of one director general, one chief collector, four additional collectors and two deputy collectors are included in the report.
Sources told that presently posted as member Federal Board of Revenue and former director general Customs Intelligence and Investigations Shaukat Ali have British nationality. Chief Collector Zeba Hai is also Canadian national while Tariq Huda is American national.
It is pertinent to mention here that Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered to all government offices to compile a list of officers those have dual nationality. All the federal government departments and ministries direct to submit the reports in Supreme Court. FBR also directed to their officers to submit the information regarding dual nationality. In response 21 officials has admitted that they have dual nationality. It is expected that these officers may be face departmental inquiry and they can be removed their present postings.
