26 development schemes worth Rs764m approved for Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The district government of the federal capital has approved 26 development schemes worth Rs764.699 million for the rural areas of the city.

Islamabad Development Working Party (IDWP) approved the schemes during a meeting chaired by Islamabad Chief Commissioner Zulfiqar Haider Khan.

These schemes are subject to clearance and vetting from the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, and Ministry of Interior, Islamabad. It was decided that estimated cost of these schemes would be rationalized and technical details of schemes would be incorporated in PC-1.

Projects relating to provision of drinking water facilities would ensure chlorination of water facility. The meeting was attended by the representatives of concerned departments including Ministry of Planning Development and Reforms, Ministry of Interior, CDA and ICT Administration. According to the spokesman of the district administration, the development schemes with total estimated cost of Rs764.699 million including construction of health centre and Multi Purpose Hall at Islamabad High Court Islamabad, construction of pre-cast boundary wall of Model Jail plot, construction of bridge, causeway at Sohan at Rs20 million, main street pavements at village Saknal Rs2 million, rehabilitation of main Pehinot road at Rs27.585 million, rehabilitation of roads and street pavements at Rs58.464 million, street pavement of at Harno Thanda Pani at Rs35 million, street pavement of village Chirah and adjoining dhoks at Rs56 million, Street pavement at New Shakrial at Rs40 million, Water Supply Scheme Taramari at Rs59.580 million, street pavement at Tumair, Pehnot at Rs38.830 million and street pavement construction of nullah drainage system at Nizam Din, mohalla Iqbal at Rs17 million.

The projects also include street pavements at Said Pur village at the cost of Rs3 million, street pavements at Mera Baigwal and Athal village at Rs10 million, rehabilitation of Water supply scheme SaidPur at Rs2 million, Street pavements at Mandia and rehabilitation of Suban road at Rs2 million, rehabilitation of Shahdra road at Rs18.186 million, street pavements Rumly Kamlari and dhoks at Rs5 million, Installation of hand pumps in Bhara Kau and Phulgram at Rs59.914 million, up-gradation of water supply scheme Koral at Rs37.227 million, construction of cause way on Swan river at Rs40.584 million, widening of road from kirpa to kalyah Japan road at Rs59.600 million and design and construction of high level bridge on Khad River village Chirah.
