3 cops killed: Police van turns turtle after tyre bursts

HYDERABAD: A police van turned turtle when one of its tyres burst, killing three policemen on Super Highway near Hyderabad.

Sources said that the tyre burst at Looni Wala Kot caused the police mobile to roll over several times, killing the cops sitting behind in the passenger cabin.

The unfortunate police van, which was travelling fast on Super Highway before the accident, was part of a squad led by Senior Superintendent of Police Ghotki, who was going back to his office town after visiting Karachi. The casualties were taken to Civil Hospital Hyderabad, where cops Yar Mohammad, Raaz Gul, and Basharat were pronounced dead. According to sources, the Ghotki top cop is safe.
