’80pc of 712 invested in UAE real estate are non-taxpayers’

ISLAMABAD: As many as 712 people have invested in property projects abroad, while 80 percent of them are non-taxpayers as they have no any national tax number and sales tax registration, it is learnt.

Sources said that 648 persons have invested in a UAE-based project of Damac Properties, while 64 have invested in the project of NSHAMA Properties. They revealed that these persons include politicians or their managers/front men, brokers, bureaucrats, celebrities and other influential people.

They added that the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation of Inland Revenue has planned a special strategy against transfer of black money from Pakistan to UAE in the garb of real estate investments.

The IR-Intelligence has initiated an operation targeting laundering of black money in the garb of real estate investment abroad as it has raided couple of exhibitions organized by UAE-bases real estate developers and taken their records into custody.

The sources has revealed some name which include Sadaf lqbal, Ahmad Mujahid, Nasir Ali Rajput, Muhammad Amin, Salman Hafiz, Sadaf Butt, Mustansar Khalid, Nouman Khan, Muhammad Hany, Tauqeer Hussain, Mian Athar Gul, Syed Basit Kazmi, Fayaz ur Rehman, Nabeel Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Waqar, Muhammad Farhan, lqbal Baig, Parvez Musharraf, Ahmed Karim, Abdul Haseeb, Siraj Kabani, Syed Rehbar Alam, Syed Ali, Mumtaz Ali Akbar, Saif Ansari , Mrs Muoazzam, Muzammil Ahmad, Sardar Saboor Khan, lqbal Baig , Khalid Khan, Rehana Ahsan, Ramzan Ali , Erum Ghazi, Faisal Ghazi, Muneeb ur Rehman, Saqib Hashmi and Arsalan Subhani etc.
