120 Pak traders join over 80,000 trade visitors from 109 countries at ISPO 2015 trade fair in Munich

ISLAMABAD – Around 120 manufacturers, exporters, and exhibitors of sports goods from Sialkot attended four-day ISPO 2015 which was attended by more than 80,000 trade visitors from 109 countries.

ISPO 2015 is one of the world’s largest trade fairs of sports goods and equipment, in Munich. The event also attracted a large number of the end users of the outdoor and indoor sports products and the general public.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) extended support to 29 exhibitors from Sialkot under its policy to encourage the new entrants. It also established site office with the support of the commercial section of the embassy and the Consulate General, Frankfurt to assist the exhibitors in their business activities.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the federal minister for defence, water and power, who also hails from Sialkot, along with the Ambassador Syed Hasan Javed visited the Pakistan Pavilion and met with the exhibitors. He went to each stall and exchanged views with them about their products and marketing strategies.

Research and development with innovative ideas was a key to success in the present fast growing and trendy age, he said. He urged the Pakistani manufacturers and exporters of sports goods to spend a reasonable portion of their income on research and development, which ultimately would keep them in the competition and help expand their business activities.
