Ginneries get phutti of 14.78m bales: Textiles buy 13.57m, exporters 473,337, TCP 94,900 bales

MULTAN: Till March 15, 2015, seed cotton (Phutti) of 14.78 million bales has reached ginneries across the country registering a percentage increase in arrivals by 10.59 per cent versus corresponding period of 2014, as per a fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA)

The report added phutti equivalent to 14,785,795 bales had reached ginning factories and 14.75m of them have undergone the ginning process. The arrival at Punjab ginneries was recorded at 10.81 million bales recording a percentage increase of 12.49 per cent compared to corresponding period of last year.

Showing a percentage increase of 5.74 per cent, arrivals at ginneries in Sindh was recorded at 3.97 million bales. Textile Mills have purchased 13.57 million bales, exporters bought 473,337 bales while Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) procured 94,900 bales.

It said total sold out bales were calculated at 14.14 million bales. Exactly 644,986 bales were still lying with the ginneries as the unsold stock.
