SIALKOT: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has pledged to bring change in the technical education curriculum by including new technical courses in the curriculum , besides, modifying the technical training courses in all the government technical education institutions for ensuring the early provision of skilled work force for the industries in active collaboration with the chambers of commerce and industry and other trade bodies across Punjab.
These views were expressed by TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaisar Sheikh while talking to a delegation of Sialkot-based surgical instruments manufacturers and exporters, who had called on him. He vowed to make all out sincere efforts to flourish the surgical industry in this regard.
He added that TEVTA has now modified the short technical training courses including filling, grinding, finishing and polishing and machinist for boosting the surgical industry of Sialkot through providing a skilled labour and work force to this industry in active collaboration with the Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (SIMAP). At present 3500 surgical instruments manufacturing units are registered with SIMAP in Sialkot.
