I-pad, computer tablets provided to KICT staff for efficient output

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-West has provided I-pad and computer tablets to the examination staff of Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT) for speedy examination of the consignments.

When contacted, Collector MCC-Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem said that the collectorate has provided I-pad and computer tablets to the examination staff at KICT for the quick disposal of examination reports, adding that clear instructions have been transferred to all examination officials to file report from examination area with the help of their I-pad.

“KICT is the only terminal and MCC Appraisement-West is the only collectorate which has provided latest technology to its examining staff,” he added.

Muhammad Saleem further said that the trade would surely be facilitated through the step taken by the collectorate, adding that it would also save time of importers as well as customs officials.

The Collector MCC Appraisement-West said that the manual IDs of examining officials at KICT would be completely eliminated after a month and all would be transferred on automated system.

To a query, Collector MCC Appraisement-West, Muhammad Saleem revealed that all examining officials at all other terminals would be facilitated by I-pad and tablets within two months time.
