FBR collects almost Rs 2.11 trillion in 11 months

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has collected almost Rs 2.11 trillion in wake of taxes during first 11 months (July-May) of current fiscal year 2014-15.

As per details, government had assigned the target of Rs 2.81 trillion to FBR for running financial year but has to revised the target due to the huge cut in petroleum prices and others factors.

After revision thrice in fiscal year 2014-15, the target was reduced to Rs 2.691 trillion which FBR has to achieve in last month, June of this year.

Officials said that it seemed difficult for FBR to achieve the 100 percent target despite that we were striving hard to make it possible. They added that department has expedited the revenue recovery process from the defaulters in this regard.
