Multan Customs seizes smuggled smart phones, LED worth Rs 225,000

MULTAN: Customs staff has successfully seized 13 smuggled smart phones, accessories and LED at the Multan International Airport during an action.

According to details, the customs staff has captured the smuggled smart phones from the luggage of a passenger during the inspection at the Multan International Airport. The passenger was coming from Dubai.

The recovered goods includes imported mobile accessories, mobile batteries of various origin. Inspector Shafqat Ali Awan, Kanwar Asif Ali, Muhammad Iqbal captured the items during checking process. Customs Department have seized the goods after recovering it from the luggage of the passenger. When Customs authorities asked the passenger to provide legal documents, the passenger failed to provide the same. The value of the smuggled smart phones mobile and its accessories were almost Rs 225,000. Customs Department has also captured the imported LED from the passenger after its detention.

Later on the passenger paid the customs duty of Rs 7225 to the customs department for the release of his imported LED at the Multan International Airport. An advance information reports against the seized goods were lodged by the customs staff at the Multan International Airport.
