Customs Lower Employees warn of protest after Eid

KARACHI: The Pakistan Customs Lower Employees Association has decided to stage protest demonstration after Eid-ul-Fitr for the fulfillment of their legal demands.
According to the details, General Secretary Aftab Hussain Shah Hamdani informed Customs Today that the lower employees association with the consent of all its members has decided to stage protest after Eid.
The demands of Pakistan Customs Lower Employees Association included, promotion of Class-IV employees, up gradation the posts of ‘Jamadar’ and ‘Hawaldar’ into next cadre/grade as per the verdict of courts, call for a Common Pool Funds (CPF) meeting immediately for the redress of issues faced by the employees and proper medical facilities to of Class-IV employees.
“The association in its first phase will stage token protest demonstration in front of Custom House Karachi,” he added.
He said that grievances of the employees have not been resolved for a long time despite several warnings sent to officials of Pakistan Customs including Chief Collector, Additional Collectors and others through letters.
Hamdani further said that the cold-blooded response of Pakistan Customs’ high officers compelled us to stage protest in favour of their demands.
