LAHORE: Business community, reacting over the effect of current political upheaval, has urged the stakeholders to resolve the issues in largest interest of country.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Vice President Kashif Anwar said that government has been seeking foreign investment but paying no heed to local industry which is at stake due to current law and order situation. He said all the stakeholders were responsible for current situation and they should resolve the issue to save local industry and investment for the larger interest of country.
Hall Road Traders Association Chairman Baber Mehmood said traders community was the one more prone to effects of any protest and political disturbance and current situation put their livelihood in to grave danger of starvation.
He urged the PTI and PAT leadership to postpone the Azadi march and said that at the stage when government has been striving to put economy on the path of prosperity, country could not afford the suspension of economic activities due to marches for mere political interests.
Shah Alam Market Traders President Khawaja Aamir said the business community was much troubled over the PTI and PAT activities on Independence Day, adding that our business was already under depression and the protest threats would further harm it.
