Customs Court approves judicial remand of accused in mis-declaration case

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved a 14-day physical remand of a suspect, Muhammad Rafique, who was allegedly involved in tax evasion and mis-declaration in import of betel leaf.

According to details, Muhammad Rafique was arrested by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation on a tip-off that he was involved in import of betel leaf. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation also found heavy tax evasion of Rs 26 million in the wake of customs duty. Muhammad Rafique is a resident of Mughalpura, Lahore.
