However, the Customs Appraisement Valuation Group reassessed the imported goods and found its worth at Rs 25.9 million.

The importer, later, moved the Islamabad High Court when customs asked additional duty of Rs 14.3 million. The court ordered the importer to issue post-dated cheque in the name of the Customs Department.

Customs Inspector Farrukh Amin further stated in the FIR that importer’s cheque was bounced back due to insufficient funds in the bank account.

The customs has registered a fraud and mis-declaration case against the importer under Customs Act 1996 and started investigation.
