Director valuation Mahboob Saqib retires

LAHORE: The Directorate of Customs Valuation Director Mahboob Saqib Khan has retired from his services, attaining the age of superannuation in BPS-20.

During his service Khan has contributed significantly in the development of the Customs Department. As chief TEPI and computer bureau, he upgraded the computer hardware and provided optic fiber based connectivity to all floors of the custom house.

He has the honor of revising the rebate notifications with the consent of the respective trade bodies /associations which saved the FBR Rs 22 billion per year with subsequent yearly savings which saved the exporters from potential WTO cases.

As collector Appraisment Karachi introduced automated customs procedure of clearance in customs. He also founded Customs Foundation with seed money of Rs 10 million. He was one of the main persons in the team which redesigned the new GD form.
