LAHORE: After a three-day relief to token tax evaders, the Excise and Taxation Department has started a crackdown on the tax defaulter vehicles.
The department would collect token tax with a 200 percent surcharge. According to details, the token tax defaulters were told to submit fee until the end of September without any extra charges. Source said that the officials have been deputed on roads to confiscate the token tax defaulter vehicles or their registration papers.
On the other hand, the Excise and Taxation Department authorities have restricted all the divisional directors to collect the luxury tax on big houses.
Lahore High Court Justice Shams Mahmood Mirza had issued a stay order regarding the imposition of luxury tax before Eid.
