Submission of fake E-forms: Customs Court rejects bail of seven suspects

KARACHI: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Wednesday rejected the bail confirmation applications  of seven accused persons in five cases pertaining to the export of gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-Forms.

Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi announced his verdict, dismissing the applications filed by Kashan Iqbal, Hanif Mosa, Sajid Abdul Qadir, Muhammad Shahid, Syed Tahir Hussain, Syed Abdul Qawi and Muhammad Qamran Siddiqui, through which they sought confirmation of the interim bails granted to them by the court.

After the pronouncement of the verdict, Pakistan Customs’ investigation officer took the accused persons in his custody and whisked them away to Customs House.

According to the details of the cases, the customs authorities registered five cases against exporters, including Saani Impex, BD  Enterprises and Rubab Corporation, Makkah Enterprises, M/s Reaz Corporation for exporting gold worth billions of rupees on fake E-Forms, causing huge losses to the national exchequer.
