Historic Rs14.68 POL price cut: Steel price to plunge record Rs2,000/ton, cooking oil by Re1kg

KARACHI: The benefits of reduction in petroleum prices has started appearing as the prices of steel and cooking oil will also be reduced by Ra2,000 per ton and Re1 per kg respectively.

Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) Chairman and Mujahid Steel Re-rolling Industry Managing Director Atif Ikram Shaikh said this while talking to media.

South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Senior Vice Chairman Iftikhar Malik also lauded the government’s decision of decreasing petroleum prices, which, he said, would help control inflation and benefit the poor.

Meanwhile, Maqbool Enterprise Chairman and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Zahid Maqbool Malik said the fall in petroleum prices has been followed by the decline in the rates of oil, sugar, fruits and vegetables.
