Multan Excise impounds 28 vehicles, motorcycles during crackdown‏

MULTAN: Excise and Taxation Department has impounded 28 vehicles and motorcycles in an operation launched against tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in the city on the direction of Director Jaam Siraaj Ahmad.

According to details, majority of the impounded vehicles’ owners are defaulters regarding vehicle tax while others did not have proper registration documents. All vehicles were impounded during the general hold up operation of the Excise Motor Vehicle Registration .

Four  different teams were constituted in this regard while Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) was supervising the operation. Excise Inspectors and others conducted crackdown against the defaulters in different areas including the Qadir Pu, Rawaa, Basti Malook, Shujabad,  Bun Bosan, Gulgasht, Khanewal Bypass and other areas.

As many as 1097 vehicles and motorcycles were checked during the operation while 78 vehicles were issued challan slips. The vehicles running on city roads with cancelled registration numbers are also being impounded.

Excise teams were directed to carried out operation without any discrimination continue their work and they have taken strict action in accordance with the law would  against the law violators during general holdup operation.
