FAISALABAD: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad recovered smuggled cloth worth Rs 1.5 million during a crackdown.
Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Falik Shair received information regarding the smuggling attempt. He formed a customs ASO team comprising Muhammad Javed Mehmood (Superintendent) Sardar Muhammad (Deputy Superintendent) Masood Saeed Chohan, Abdul Jabbar (inspector) and Hafiz Naseer Ahmed Muhammad Ashraf and Naeem Ullah (sepoy).
Customs ASO team intercepted a rickshaw bearing no. FDX-14-6514 and recovered smuggled cloth from possession of the rickshaw driver. The ASO team asked the driver of the rickshaw to produce legal documents regarding possession of cloth but he failed to provide any relevant documents.
The ASO team seized the cloth and registered a case against the accused persons.
