FAISALABAD: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a non-duty-paid Hino Ranger truck (6 wheeler) bearing registration No. SBA- 339 (Sibi) model 1997 worth Rs 3 million, involving customs duty and taxes Rs 17,08,800.
Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director Ms. Azmat Tahira received information about non-customs paid vehicles which are plying on roads. She constituted a team comprising of Zahid Saleem Mirza (SIO), Mansoor Nasir (IO) driver Tajamalul Haq (Havaldar) Muhammad Sajjad and Khalil Ahmed (sepoys).
The FIU team intercepted a Hino Ranger truck near Mainwali Toll Plaza and asked the owner of vehicle who was identified as Nabi Gul son of Haji Razi Gul and Sher Shah son of Said Agha to produce legal documents regarding possession of truck but they failed to provide any relevant documents. FIU team seized the truck and forward the case to customs adjudication for legal process.
