FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has impounded smuggled items worth Rs 14.8 million during the month of February.
Sources informed Customs Today that the anti-smuggling organization conducted various operations under the supervision of Collector Dr Zulfiqar Chaudhary and Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair . Sources said that the ASO Faisalabad, Jhang, Mianwali, Sargodha and Sara-e-Mohajir conducted 10 raids and recovered the smuggled goods which were brought into the country without payment of duty and taxes.
Sources said that seized items includes, food grains, smuggled tea, 88 tyres and tubes, auto spare parts, 6400 cartons of foreign origin cigarettes , electronic goods, etc.
Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair while talking to Customs Today said that the superintendent and inspectors of the organization are strictly instructed to adopt zero tolerance policy against the smuggling activities.
