According to details, the anti-smuggling organization (ASO) of the Customs Preventive raided a private yard of M/s Bilal Associates, at S.No.482, Yousaf Goth Karachi and another raid at the private yard No.K-42, on Trans Lyari Hawksbay Road.

The examination of the Yousof Goth yard led to the recovery of a huge quantity of containers lying for indefinite period while a container was opened and examined which found to contain rotor blades for helicopters in the box of Department of Army, fork lifters, dump truck and portable water tank. Apart from these goods, there were 295 containers lying in the yard, which were also examined by the team, all the containers were found empty.

The inspection of yard at Lyari Hawksbay Road found scrapped containers, two power generators valuing Rs 7.5 million and huge quantity of containers

M/s PRAL automation, Custom House, Karachi has been requested to provide the description and other particulars so as to ascertain the actual quantity and value of the goods. However, there is a strong belief that the cargo stuffed in these containers meant for ISAF/NATO forces in Afghanistan might have been clandestinely and illegally disposed of in the local markets of Karachi.

Shahid Ansari, Bilal Shahid, Ali Shahid Directors of M/s Bilal Associates and Waseem Ahmed have been booked. Efforts are being made to find out the actual contents and description of the goods purportedly stuffed there in.
