Pakistani, Chinese companies sign MOUs worth $50m

LAHORE: Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) worth more than $50 million have been signed between Pakistan and Chinese companies. More than 5000 business to business meetings were taken place by the third day of the forum.

The 3rd day of Pak-China Business Forum 2016 began with same warmth and enthusiasm. All the businessmen, both Chinese as well as Pakistani made their best to avail the best of the opportunity for the respective business. By the strike of 10 in morning people started visiting expo center and we got an estimated number of more than 50,000 people. Like previous two days ample number of students from various universities around the city attended the forum. Few setups today made an eye-catching factor for the kids especially a face recognition system (ROBOT) displayed by the Next Bridge (Software Developers). This Robot can perform various households as well as the industrial tasks that include tee-shirt folding, playing Chess, helping hand in industries etc.

This very day of 21st March, 2016 summed up with a Gala Dinner. This platform was raised to promote and exchange the cultural elements of both countries. Colors of Pakistan were staged by performances and networking of Chinese and Pakistanis. There is a dire need to encompass a podium for show casing Pakistani heritage and they make sure to put forward a picture crafted and dipped in colors. This show was about continuing to facilitate the bond of trust between the two nations. This dinner was a tremendous show to cover cultural interaction between both countries. We are also looking forward for the same keenness for tomorrow’s closing ceremony by Governor of Punjab.

On the same day, two workshops were carried out in the conference rooms of hall 1 and hall 2. One of the conferences was on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: Opportunities for the ICT industry in China and Pakistan. The session was introduced by the Prof. Dr. Asad Hussain, Dean Faculty of Information Sciences and Technology, CIIT Lahore. The main parameter of the whole discussion was to discuss various aspects that could lead both the countries towards the increasing rate of export-import.

The guests included Mr. Jay (Chinese name Liushengjie), CTO HUAWEI Pakistan talked about various technical work performed by the HUAWEI where the mutual business lead towards a good technical balancing. He added that there are various projects for producing electricity by wind, solar and chemical energy, where up to more than thousands megawatts of electricity can be produced. Moreover the general discussion also included the promotion of how to enhance the production of raw material, fruits, vegetables etc. so that we could make a canal of mutual export and import, not only with each other rather various countries around the world.

The other conference that was held in the conference room of Hall 2 was about The Sino-Pak Economic and Trade Issues. Dr. Qaisar Abbass, Director CIIT Lahore addressed and welcomed the guests. Prof. Changyuan Luo briefed “TTP, One Belt and road and the Trade Competitiveness under One Belt and One Road Strategy”. This conference catered awareness of the projects that has been working to broaden the Pak-China business. The graphical views about the trade between China, India and Pakistan were discussed. Dr. Atif Saeed Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, LUMS talked about the successful ways of trading and business especially when it’s about the neighbor countries like India.

This day concluded with quite good output and gestures from public. Next two days will be more outrageous and big regarding meetings and further vast input from organizations as it would be the last day of the forum.
