KARACHI: The Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG), in its recent action, has seized a huge cache of narcotics, including 415 kilogram of hashish and 62kg opium worth Rs 650 million.
According to the details, a team of Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG) on a tip-off conducted a strict checking at ‘Naka-Khari’ check post near Windher, Balochistan. During the checking, the PCG officials signaled a truck to stop, which was coming from Quetta to Karachi.
Upon checking, the PCG officials recovered 415kg hashish and 62kg opium from the secret cavities of the truck.
According to Othal PCG Commander, the seized narcotics were smuggled from Pakistan to Middle East. During the operation, the PCG officials arrested two smugglers on the spot and started further investigation.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PCG authorities while following the National Action Plan (NAP) have expedited its activities against the smuggling of narcotics and also seized 1278kg hashish, 380kgopium and 12kg heroin in short span of time from Pasni, Gwadar and Winder areas of Balochistan.
PCG Director General Brigadier Atiq-ur-Rehman applauded the efforts being made by the PCG officials at borders.
