ASO seizes 1275kg gutka

LAHORE: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) seized 1275 kilogram of gutka illegally imported from India, Sources told Customs Today.

It was said that on secret information the ASO team raided Qadri Goods Transports and confiscated a huge quantity of gutka worth millions of rupees saving the innocent youth from severe diseases.

The source said that the supply of gutka in Pakistan was prohibited but most of retailers were involved in dealing of gutka under the table.

Customs ASO Deputy Superintendent Ejaz Rasool said that after receiving the information the team raided the said transport company as soon as possible and seized a huge quantity of gutka. He added that the gutka worth millions of rupees has been taken into the custody and further investigations were underway.

The team of ASO consisting of Inspectors Manzoor Bajwa, Irfan Mumtaz, Saeed Randahwa conducted raid under the supervision of Superintendent Munawar Khan.
