SCCI urges govt to announce business-friendly budget

SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has urged the government to announced the business-friendly federal budget for fiscal year 2016-17 by taking the business community into confidence.

SCCI President Maj (Rtd) Mansur Ahmed, in a press release issued here today, asked the government to ensure the early implementation on the Zero rating policy to facilitate the export-oriented industries of Sialkot, besides, averting to levy new taxes of increase in the prevailing taxes in the larger national interest.

SCCI President also asked the government to take the business community into confidence and remove all the apprehensions of the traders, industrialists and exporters, enabling them to play their pivotal role in strengthening the national economy with full devotion, dedication and complete peace of mind, in this regard.

He urged the government to ensure the early simplification of the existing complicated taxation system of the country and halt the unnecessary interference of the governmental institutions and departments in the business matters.

SCCI President said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other related governmental departments should be the facilitators to the business community, but they are not playing direly needed role of the facilitators, due to which the complaints and problems of the business community are increasing day by day in this regard.

He said that the simplified taxation system could help the government to extend the tax net besides encouraging the businessmen by making the taxation system also as business-friendly in the coming federal budget.
