KARACHI: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Quetta, recovered 12,000 liters of Iranian diesel and dry fruits during different crackdowns.
According to sources, Collector Saeed Jadoon received secret information that a huge quantity of dry fruit will be smuggled. After receiving the tip-off, he formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Director Intelligence Inamullah Wazir. The customs team intercepted a Mazda truck and recovered 20 sacks of almond, 25 sacks of walnut and 15 sacks of pistachio. The Customs team arrested the accused and started investigations.
Customs staff during another crackdown recovered 12,000 liters of Iranian diesel . The driver of the oil tranker failed to show any legal documents regarding possession of the diesel. Customs team forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
