Customs confiscates smuggled items worth Rs 12.07m in May

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate confiscated smuggled items, including two non-duty paid vehicles and an offending vehicle worth Rs 12.072 during May of the current fiscal year.

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said that the department was working very hard to meet the revenue target of the year. He added that anti-smuggling campaign was in full swing in the region as the collectorate foiled various smuggling attempts during the last month. He said that the campaign will be continued with full force.

In May, the customs impounded an offending vehicle worth Rs 600,000, two non-duty paid vehicles valued at Rs 6.008 million, 1255 kilogram of cloth worth Rs 1.076 million, tyres/tubes Rs 110,880, auto parts Rs 82, 710, 250 cartons of cigarettes Rs 105,000, electronics valued at Rs 732,125, smuggled medicine worth Rs 3.188 million and miscellaneous goods worth Rs 117,968, he said.
