During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioners submitted that petitioners did not want to proceed further with this matter; therefore the court was requested to dispose of the petition.

Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel stated that on April 5, 2016, some persons who claimed to be the officials of the Regional Tax Office (RTO) IR came along with two police mobiles and raided the restaurant premises of the Karachi Food situated at Do Darya, Beach Avenue, DHA and the head office of the Karachi Food situated at 610 Panorama Centre, Saddar Town.

The raiders took away laptops, computers, box files etc. The counsel argued that each and every transaction of the Karachi Food’s business was duly recorded in the cash register and its complete record was available.

The petitioner added that it has been paying all the due taxes. The counsel prayed the court to declare the act of the respondents as illegal and mala fide. The court was further requested by the petitioners to restrain the respondents from taking any action against them.
