Large-scale reshuffling expected in customs this week

ISLAMABAD: A decision has been made to reshuffle officials of the Pakistan Customs group at large scale  keeping in view their performance, it is learnt.

Sources said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Administration Member Muhammad Majid Qureshi has completed a list of BS 19-20 officers for transfer and posting with consultation of Customs Member Nasir Masroor Ahmad. The list has been forwarded to FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan for final approval.

The sources further added that a list of officers of grade 21 will be finalised with the consent of the FBR chairman. The chairman will finalise names of BS 19-20 officers today, while notifications for their transfer and posting will be issued this week, they added.

Chief collectors, collectors, assistant collectors, deputy collectors, director general, directors, deputy directors will be reshuffled, they said, adding that a special focus will be put on Karachi, in this regard.

The FBR has made all lists following the performance of the officials and decided to appoint poor performers on administrative and unimportant posts instead of giving them tasks in field. The board will appoint good performers on key posts to achieve revenue targets under all heads during new fiscal year.
