SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Gujranwala Region raided a factory at Small Industrial Estate Gujrat and recovered non-duty paid China made motors worth Rs 7 million. The motors were being used to produce solar fans.
Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Punjab Saud Imran received information that owner of M/s Solar Fan factory is using smuggled China made motors in solar fans. The director instructed Deputy Director Zainab Mehmood to take action against owner of the factory. However, the deputy director ordered Superintendent Muhammad Rauf Farooqi to take stern action against the factory while on the directions of superintendent the Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Anwar along with Inspectors Mian Muhammd Yousaf, Syed Majid Raja, Saad and constables Mubashir and Asad Raza raided the factory and recovered a huge quantity of China made motors which were being used in production of solar fans.
The team confiscated all motors worth Rs7 million and shifted motors in the store of Customs Intelligence and Investigation of Gujranwala Region. Hence during the raid the owner of factory was fled away. The team has registered a case against factory owner. Superintendent Rauf Farooqi told Customs Today that the confiscated China made motors were smuggled by Torkham under Afghanistan Transit Trade. He told a resident of KPK sold said motors to owner of factory. The team will send motors to concerned laboratory test while the team case refer to Adjudication Court for proceeding and after proceeding and decision of the Customs court will liable to sale motors in an auction process. He said that the Customs Intelligence has vowed to curb smuggling and operation of department is continue for this purpose whereas fruitful result are observing.
