FBR assigns returns collection targets to Gujranwala, Sialkot RTOs

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has given an official target of 67,000 tax returns collection to the Regional Tax Office (RTO), Sialkot and 75000 tax returns collection target to RTO, Gujranwala, besides fixing September 30, 2016 as deadline.

The FBR asked the taxpayers to ensure the early submission of their annual tax returns before this deadline in a bid to avert the stern legal action against them under the FBR Act for not submitting their tax returns.

The FBR has also established 11 teams in Sialkot region and 13 teams in Gujranwala, while the officials have started issuing the notices to all the tax payers in their respective areas, asking them to ensure the timely submission of their tax returns.

The RTO chief commissioner has assigned the special duties for tax returns collections to the senior recovery officials in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts as well, besides, establishing the special tax returns collection desks.

The FBR officials added that the Sialkot RTO collected 35,000 tax returns and Gujranwala 42000 tax returns during the last fiscal year.

The officials said that the stern legal action would be taken under the tax laws against those taxpayers who would not submit their tax returns till the given final deadline.
