Faisalabad Customs holds training workshop for importers

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs arranged a video training workshop for employees and importers at the Customs House to aware them about Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) module.

The Directorate of Reforms and Automation decided the training workshop for the employees of the Faisalabad Customs staff.

Suprintendent, Appraisers, examiners and inspectors from Faisalabad Customs participated in training workshop of the Directorate of Reforms and Automation on the Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) module. Import consignments will be delivered through Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) module from 1st September. The Customs Collectorate Faisalabad made special arrangements for the training session carried out through video link of roll out Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) module from September 1 for clearance of import consignments at the Faisalabad Dry Port.

In order to import goods into Pakistan, all importers shall have to obtain the Electronic I Form ( EIF ), through their bank before filing og a goods declaration ( GD ), with customs. The request for EIF shall be submitted electronically by importer and the bank shall approve or reject EIF electronically in WeBoc. After implementation of EIF Module, All importers ( Both WeBoc and One Customs GDs ), shall be required to associate their GDs with the relevant EIF issued by the bank.

Furthermore, For Consignments involving No foreigin remittance, the importer shall file request to bank for EIF having Nil value. These many include goods temporarily importer into Pakistan with a view to Subsequent exportation and importers under project loans and credits (including those on free of payment basis ), or under special approvals from State Bank of Pakistan. The bank shall approve or reject Such EIF and importer shall attach the approved EIF with respective goods Declaration. WeBoc system shall display all Nil Value EIF to State bank of Pakistan (SBP), in a separate Folder.

In this system Additional Collector level would be able to waive of the I form requirement in respect of specific Good declaration ( GD ), to cater for any untoward situation. However, payment against such consignment shall be made upon filing of EIF and subsequent issuance of Bank debit advice ( BDA ) WeBOC system.

It is pertinent to mention that the importer clearing their GDs through one Customs must also  User-ID in WeBoc for EIF attachment.

Customs have declared mandatory for all importers to submit their Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) for the clearance of their import consignments from September 1 and importer were worried about new module about the procedure of Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) module .Pakistan Customs have declared mandatory for all importers to submit their Electronic Issuance Form (EIF) for the clearance of their import consignments. Newly made this system works manually and through old one customs system to facilitate the importers.

Directorate of Reforms and Automation will decide to give further sessions after the feedback of employees and their importers faced difficulties after this training session.
