Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir encourages leather sector to buy hides on Eidul Azha

SIALKOT: Assistant Collector Fahad Bashir Chaudhary has said that the Sialkot Customs allows the leather sector to buy raw hides on the eve of Eidul Azha under the customs laws and Customs Act 1969.

Fahad said that the leather sector should buy hides on Eidul Azha otherwise it will not be able to purchase raw hides. He said that in other days the leather sector is bound to buy raw hides by obtaining permission from the Customs Department. He added that the sector has to pay federal excise duty on hides in other days.

He said that the customs authorities have issued orders to all customs collectorates in the country to focus the leather sector and allow it to buy raw hides on Eid as per the customs law. He said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has also issued instructions for this matter to focusing the leather sector.
