Collectorate of Customs Preventive Lahore goes online

LAHORE: All the vibrant organizations have their own interactive websites and credit goes to Customs Collectorate Preventive which has launched a website to facilitate importers, exporters, passengers and all other stakeholders.

These views were expressed by Collector Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas while interacting with Customs Today on the newly launched website of Collectorate of Customs Preventive Lahore.

Customs Preventive, Lahore launched its official website to facilitate the international passengers, importers, exporters, business community and other stakeholders. The address of the website is: www.customspreventivelahore.gov.pk.

This is the first time that any Collectorate in Pakistan has launched its official website. The website is expected to be acting as a useful platform between the Customs Collectorate and the stakeholders. The website is also important as it gives access to general public, importers, exporters and international passenger about various public notices issued by the Customs Preventive, Lahore and other authorities.

The Collector Zulfiqar Younas while shedding light on the salient features of the website said that the website will come in handy in redressal of grievance of incoming and outgoing international passenger and a special space has been provided to them so that they could be able to share their grievances / suggestions.

The collector supplemented that website will also exhibit all the tenders for procurement of goods and services issued by the Collectorate which would make it easy for anybody who is interested in applying in these tender.

Such people should visit website to get the details about the tender and related information, he elucidated.

In answer to a question Younas informed that auction schedule will also be  regularly posted on the website so that all the individual interested to participate in the auctions conducted by the Collectorate can be facilitated.

The collector explicated that the website contains useful information about the Collectorate with some historical backgrounds. It also has the Organogram of the Collectorate as well as different projects being undertaken by the Collectorate.

The name and contact numbers of all the officers of the Collectorate will also be available on the website so as to enable any individual who want to contact the Collectorate in any related matter, Younas elucidated.

“Links to WeBOC homepage for filing of GDs, and web links of NBP, SBP and other related organization are provided, he said, adding that the website is an interactive platform which will help the passengers, business community and general public to be able to remain in contact with the MCC (Preventive), Lahore to resolve issues and facilitate.

He held that in order to ensure regular monitoring and updation of the website, each assistant/ Deputy Collector will be responsible for monitoring / up-gradation of the website related to his/ her area of jurisdiction.

The assistant/ deputy collector will identify information emanating from his/her section, to be uploaded/ updated on the website, he informed, adding that the AC/ DC concerned shall prepare the information for uploading and updation on the website and forward the same to the Assistant/ Deputy Collector (Hdqrs) after obtaining approval of the concerned Additional Collector.

The Assistant Collector (Auction) will ensure that a copy of the auction schedule is forwarded to the AC/DC (HQ) on the same day it is issued along with list of the items to be auctioned, the collector stated.
