Customs Central Region collects Rs 1,0295m sales tax in August

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs 1,0295 million on account of sales taxes from all its collectorates, including Preventive, Appraisement, Multan and Faisalabad collectorates.

The collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 4,815 million sales taxes during the month of August 2016 against Rs 5,263 collected during the same period of last financial year 2015-16.

Similarly, the collcetorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs 1826 million during the period under review against Rs 1939 million collected during the same period of last financial year.

On the other hand Customs Multan collected Rs 2522 million during the month of August 2016 against Rs 4949 million collected during August 2016.

The collectorate of Faisalabad collected Rs 1311 million during the month of August 2016 against Rs 587 million collected during the month of August last financial year 2015-16.

The region collected sales tax Rs 10295 million during the month of August 2015-16 against Rs 12738 million during the same period last year.

Sources told Customs Today that Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Samaira Nazir has directed all the collectors of customs to put their maximum efforts to collect as much as revenue to make it big total at the end of the financial year 2016-17.
