Chairman Nisar said that we should consider our thirty years of service as “memorable time” after our retirement. We have to focus on positive developments instead of negative feelings that we are going to retire and our career is almost finished now.  He agreed with the idea that sometime negative feelings approach the retired person because he spend most of his time without official responsibilities. He said that this is the negative point of retirement that busy person suddenly become free of any official responsibility. He said that in most of developed countries government did not retire competent officials rather they prefer to retain them as consultants.

Chairman Nisar said that some people think that retirement is a gift for them because they think that they will spend most of their time in prayers.

He paid rich tributes to outgoing Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Imtiaz Ahmad and said that Imtiaz Ahmad is among those officials who rendered all his official duties honestly and dedicatedly and there is hardly any person who dislikes official like Imtiaz Ahmad. He said Imtiaz Ahmad played vital role for curbing smuggling in the region. He said that we don’t want to say goodbye to our colleague Imtiaz Ahmad rather we will prefer that we should be assigned some responsibility in our future team so we will take benefits from his experience.
