Customs Central Region collects Rs 595m withholding tax in 15 days of November

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region has collected Rs 595 million as withholding tax during the first 15 days of November in financial year 2016-17.

As per details, Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 228 million withholding tax during 15 day of November. Similarly, Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs 360 million withholding tax during the period under review. The Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 3 million withholding tax during the period under review.

The Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad has collected Rs 3.74 million withholding tax during the period of financial year 2016-17.

Overall the Central Region collected total duty and taxes from all the four Collectrates worth Rs 595 million during the first fifteen days of November of financial year 20161-17.

The Central Region has been assigned Rs 1467 million withholding tax revenue collection target against the target of Rs 733 million assigned during the same period last financial year.

Sources said that the collectors of all the four Collectorate directed to use all available resources to meet the current financial year’s revenue collection target. The office of the chief collector has also been monitoring all the collection from all the four collectorates on daily basis. Sources said that all the four collectorates adopted a comprehensive policy to collect more revenue to meet the assigned revenue collection target.
