Customs Preventive to hold special ceremonies on Int’l Customs Day

LAHORE: Customs Preventive has arranged special event in connection with the World Customs Day on Thursday (tomorrow) to commemorate the day with full zeal and zest.

The ceremony will begin with the flag hoisting, dua and national anthem for prosperity of Pakistan and Customs Service at the Customs House Lahore. After the flag hoisting ceremony and recitation from the Holy Quran inaugural remarks will be extended by Collector Customs Preventive Zulfiqar Younas and will be address by FBR Member Customs Nasir Masroor Ahmad.

The collectorate has invited Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Governor of Punjab as chief guest and he will also address the ceremony.

Distribution of certificates to performance achievers of customs department and prize distribution of poster competition besides award distribution among top taxpayers of the Region will also be held.

Additionally, Dr. Umar Saif chairman Punjab Information Technology Board will launch anti-smuggling software and will brief the participants.

A customs contingent of sepoys and destruction ceremony of contraband goods will be held on the occasion.

At the end, vote of thanks by Chief Collector Samaira Nazir will be given and exhibition of posters on Customs Day will be opened. A musical evening followed by dinner at Custom House will also be arranged.

This years’ Customs day has been dedicated to promoting data analysis under the slogan “Data Analysis for Effective Border Management.” while Members will have the opportunity to showcase their efforts and activities in a sector that is becoming a key element in Customs modernization process: collecting and analysing data.
