ATIR postpones hearing of tax matter filed by M/s Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited

ISLAMABAD: On the last official day of the week, the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) on Friday adjourned hearing on a tax matter filed by M/s Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited. ATIR Account Member Dr Ghulam Mujtaba Bhatti heard the matter and adjourned hearing.

During last week the tribunal had directed the counsels to conclude their arguments on next date of hearing in a case remanded back to the tribunal by the Islamabad High Court (IHC). However, the tribunal adjourned hearing as lawyers sought more time to conclude the arguments on the matter.

M/s Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited had contested show cause notices issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

According to details, M/s Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited had challenged recovery of issued to it in head of outstanding income tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

M/s Pakistan Telecom Mobile Limited had submitted the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2013 in head of income tax under provisions of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including Commissioner Inland Revenue, Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) were made respondent in the case.
