ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has brought 170,000 new filers into tax net during the last 376 days.
The FBR has set a new national record by bringing these new filers into tax net from July 1, 2016 to July 11, 2017. As many as 130,000 taxpayers filed their returns during July 1, 2015 to July 11, 2016, while the number of filers reached 1.2 million till July 11 of new fiscal year 2017-18.
The number of individuals surged from 960,000 to 1.12 million, firms (associations of persons) increased to 1,000 and companies grown to 4,000 during the corresponding period.
