ISLAMABAD: A division bench of Islamabad High Court dated in office hearing of a customs appeal with directions to parties to ensure presence before court on next date of hearing.
Islamabad High Court division bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case.
As the court resumed hearing on the day, the bench was asked to adjourn hearing owing to absence of main counsel by the junior lawyers.
During last hearing the bench had directed the parties to submit record about the cases prior to next date of hearing.
The court asked the counsels to complete arguments at the earliest and submit record pertaining to the matter.
M/s Wahaj Enterprises had filed the case against Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad and Model Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.
Barrister Masroor Shah, Muhammad Naeem Qazi, Raja Muhammad Tariq, Shan Zeb Khan, Sikandar Naeem Qazi had represented the appellant in the case while Amin Feroze Khan, Naziran Malik, Muhammad Nawaz had contested on behalf of Customs Appellate Tribunal in the case.
It is pertinent to mention that the matter was filed with the court in 2008. The matter was pending with the court since then as the parties had been delaying hearing on the case.
Meanwhile, the court had issued plenty of notices and directions to conclude hearing on the matter. However, the parties caused delay in concluding the matter using delaying tactics.
