AFU Islamabad suffers deficit of CD Rs94.66m on Imports during first quarter

ISLAMABAD: The Air Freight Unit (AFU) Islamabad faced a shortfall of Rs94.66million of Customs Duty (CD) on Imports during the 1^st-Quarter (July to September) Financial Year (FY) 2017-18 against the assigned revenue collection of the 1^st-Quarter under the same head. But the AFU surpassed the revenue collection target under the heads of Sales Tax (ST) and Income tax (IT) during the 1^st-Quarter FY17-18.

According to details explained by sources of the AFU while talking to Customs Today that, during the 1^st-Quarter FY17-18, the AFU earned Rs488.87million as CD while it was assigned the revenue collection target of Rs583.53million under the same head for the 1^st-Q FY17-18.
The AFU was allocated the revenue collection target of ST amounting to Rs663.15million whereas it generated Rs761.08million against the earmarked revenue collection target. The AFU received extra revenue of Rs97.93million against the assigned revenue collection target as ST for the 1^st-Quarter FY17-18.
The sources added that the AFU collected Rs392.36million of revenue of IT against the allocated revenue target of Rs341.88million under the same head during the 1^st-Quarter FY17-18. The AFU received extra revenue amounting to Rs50.48million against the earmarked revenue target as IT for said period.
