Shortfall of Rs1181.270m faced by MCC Hyderabad during nine days of October

HYDERABAD: The MCC Hyderabad has received Rs470.301million of Customs Duty and Taxes against Rs1181.270target during the nine days of October FY2017-18. So the collectorate faced a shortfall of Rs711million during the abovementioned period.

The department collected Rs131.639million as Customs Duty, Rs324.579million of Sales Tax, Rs0.750million as Federal Excise Duty (Special FED) and Rs13.333million of With Holding Tax (WHT) during the abovementioned period.

The Customs House Hyderabad expects to achieve Rs241.720million as Customs Duty (CD), Rs875.030million of Sales Taxes (ST), Rs0.550million of Federal Excise Duty (FED) and Rs63.970million as With Holding Tax (WHT). The completion of the target was fulfilled with Rs1011.010million received during the month of September 2017-18.

The major tax sources include unit of Sukkur (OMC & Rima cooking oil) SWH, Sukkur Directorate, Sukkur Dry Port, Hyderabad Bonded Ware House, State Ware House, Export Hyderabad and KPR (Zero Point) Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries, Crescent Steel, Omni Polymer Industries and Pakistan State Oil.

The Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), also impounded Non-Duty-Paid vehicles including four oil tankers filled with 25,000 liter of smuggling Iranian High Speed Diesel (HSD), foreign origin Non-Duty-Paid 600 cartons of cigarettes of different brands, foreign origin 694729 sachets of Indian Gutka, 5500 yards of cloths, 21 cartons of medicine, Rani Juice, coconut chocolate bars, electronic items, auto parts and other items worth Rs27million during September 2017-18.

Under the supervision of Hyderabad Customs Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq, Aamer Nawaz Hamid, Deputy Collector Dry Port Zam Hussain, Deputy Collector Dry Port Kalimulah, Principal Appraiser Mashuq Ali Panhwar, Appraiser Ashir Ms Tabasum and Superintendent Statistical Revenue played an important role in the revenue collection, say officials.
