ASO Multan directed to submit details for scrutiny of its performance

MULTAN: The Director General Audit Customs and Petroleum asked the Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization to submit necessary details for scrutiny of its performance.

The Model of Customs Collector Multan has been directed to provide complete particulars of the preventive functions during the ongoing Fiscal Year 2017-18 for audit. The Multan Customs will submit complete details of the posting of the officers and their names, designations, places of posting and durations at Preventive Anti-Smuggling Division to Director General Audit Customs and Petroleum for scrutiny on the direction of the Federal Board of Revenue.

The Federal Board of Revenue has directed the Directorate General of Audit to evaluate the performance of the preventive functions of first five months of the Fiscal Year 2017-18. The Directorate General Audit Customs has also directed the Multan Customs to submit details of vehicles being used by the Anti-Smuggling Organization in their field operations.

The Anti-Smuggling Organization has also provided names of the field staff and will also provide their vehicles’ model numbers, chassis numbers and engine capacity.

The Multan Customs will also provide complete details of cut and weld, non-duty-paid tampered vehicles under the use of the anti-smuggling.

Anti-Smuggling Organization has also submitted details to Director General Audit about the details of weapons and all necessary equipments like bullet-proof jackets, laptops, internets and connectivity devices being used by them.

The purpose of collecting this information is to evaluate the performance of the Anti-Smuggling Organization and take special measures for the enhancement of performance through provision of their necessary equipments required in the anti-smuggling operations.
