HONG KONG: Officers of Shenyang Taoxian Airport Customs House (affiliated to Shenyang Customs District) finalised a consignment of ancient animal fossils for a show overseas.
The fossils, which are collections of Paleontological Museum of Liaoning, will be sent to attend an exhibition that will be held from October 2014 to January 2015 in the State Museum of Natural History Stuttgart in Germany. The consignment of items was with a weight of 1,302 kilograms and a street value of EUR 764,000.
Knowing that the fossils were fragile items and there were lots of precious pieces in this consignment of goods, Shenyang Customs District designated officers to exercise control especially for the fossils to ensure a smooth clearance.
